This weekend I spent trying to hide from responsibilities. Yea, I know it doesn't work like that. No matter where I might hide, there will still be dishes, laundry, bills and two tiny feet to take care of.
But taking a micro second to pretend that all I have to do is stay in bed?
During the winter months my room is the warmest in the house, so it quickly becomes my oasis at home. Filled with two fur babies cuddling on the bed, an electric blanket and a little boy crawled up in my lap.
It's simply perfect!
I've always been the type of person to keep busy, have a clean home, preparing for dinner or whatever needs done. So having this weekend was a good reminder to also rest and relax. All those duties, though can't be hidden from, can wait. But the moments spent cuddling all my family members in our big bed only lasts a moment.
So enjoying that moment in rest is good for me, even if it's forced upon. For I know soon, we will be running like CRAZY! So many things and movements are ahead of us. So this month? We will enjoy the rest before the race.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
